The IM38 Murphy bed with a fold-out table for a small living space offers a furnishing solution ideal for spaces with limited dimensions, where it is necessary to create a living room, bedroom, and laundry area all together.
Complete with a vertical wall bed unit and integrated table, sofa bed, and room divider for a second separate area, it is designed to offer a complete, customisable solution that integrates a living area, bedroom, and study corner without compromising on style or practicality.
The focal point of the composition is Reverso Tavolo, a unit with a revolving mechanism featuring a vertical foldaway bed and table. The front panel rotates on a vertical axis, allowing the wall to be configured either as a spacious 160×90 cm table or as a Murphy bed, equipped with a patented system that assists movement and prevents the bed base from dropping accidentally or suddenly. The unit is integrated into a hinged-door wardrobe with open shelving units, whose structure also frames a practical sofa bed on the side. This provides additional sleeping accommodation for guests. A wall-mounted console top serves as a TV panel above suspended storage units, which are a useful place for less frequently used items.
The second key element of this project is the sliding door portal, a practical room divider that allows the studio apartment layout to be split into two separate areas. The first is dedicated to a multifunctional living room that becomes a sleeping area. The second is designed as a discreet, concealed laundry space. The latter features full-height cabinetry with smooth doors in the Materico Cotto finish, equipped with dedicated compartments for the main appliances.
IM38 is a design solution that allows the living areas to be clearly separated from the service areas, reducing the perception of clutter and maximising the visual harmony of the studio apartment.
